The Campus
The UOW main campus comprises 82 hectares of bushland, parks and waterways surrounding modern learning and teaching spaces. The campus is only five kilometres from the centre of Wollongong City and is well connected by bus and rail with the city centre, surrounding towns, and Sydney.
Library
The UOW Library provides access to a wide array of information and research materials including ebooks, ejournals, and databases; offering expert and friendly help. With over 1400 study spaces and 300 computers, group study rooms, wireless access, laptops for loan and powered desks, there is a space for everyone.
Open 80 hours a week, and supported by the UOW library web site providing access to thousands of electronic journal resources, the UOW library is always ready to help you learn essential information and research skills to help you succeed.
Sport and Recreation
The University Recreation and Aquatic Centre (URAC) is UOW’s sports and recreation hub. URAC has world-class facilities including a full gym, sports fields for cricket and football, 50-metre heated swimming pool, hockey fields, tennis and squash courts, basketball courts, and a 3,000-seat multipurpose sports centre. It also hosts fitness and training classes, social sport competitions and representative teams.
The UOW sports clubs cater for everyone from the novice looking for lunchtime fun through to elite athletes competing at a national level.
Services and retail
UniCentre is the heart of campus social life, combining the key social and study spaces, the student-run Clubs and Societies, the campus medical services, as well as the various on-campus shops and restaurants.
The award-winning UOW UniBar attracts Australian and international live music acts, and provides a venue for student performances by local bands, student bands and DJs. It offers cheap food and drinks and is one of the social centres of the campus.
UOW also offers many support services to take care of our students.
