A compulsory orientation for new international students is held in the week immediately before the start of a session. This is your official introduction to UOW and gives you the opportunity to make new friends and settle into Wollongong before lectures begin.
Orientation Week will familiarise you with the campus, staff and facilities. Information sessions will be held on:
- Services and facilities
- Overseas Student Health Cover
- Study skills and essay writing
- Living in Australia
- Campus tours
Formal enrolment will also take place during Orientation Week. This includes registration in individual subjects, receiving lecture and class times and obtaining your student card. Faculty orientation seminars will allow you to consult with academic advisers from your course on the selection of subjects and your program of study.
Compulsory
It is important you arrive in plenty of time for Orientation Week. If unavoidable circumstances prevent you from arriving in time for Orientation Week, you must request an Extension Letter by contacting the Case Officer noted on your Offer of Admission letter. If you do not know who to contact, email UniAdvice.
Late enrolment can only be permitted up until the end of the first week of lectures at the Sydney Business School or up until the second week of lectures for other courses.
