AusAID Scholarships Officer
The AusAID Scholarships Officer is the main point of contact in all matters affecting AusAID students including family support. The AusAID Scholarships Officer together with student support staff in the Accommodation Office will assist you with arrival and accommodation services.
English Conversation Groups
Family members as well as students are welcome at the free English Conversation Groups on campus. The groups provide an opportunity for international students to practise their English in an informal atmosphere. See the current timetable for English Conversation Groups.
International Student Programs
International Student Programs contribute to the wellbeing of UOW international students and their families. Family members are welcome to participate in the majority of these programs, including English Conversation Groups, International Friendship Program, Sightseeing Trips and Welcome 2 Wollongong Festival.
Counselling Services
The University Counselling Service provides a free and confidential service to assist students who are experiencing difficulties, including family-related problems. Both male and female counsellors are available. Family members of international students at UOW are also welcome to attend the University Counselling Service.
SSA's
Student Support Advisors (SSA's) are specialist staff based in each faculty who can help international students during their stay in Australia. SSA's can assist in family emergencies and can refer international students to relevant services for families in the community. See the SSA's for more information.
