Services and Facilities for students
Careers Service
Although many AusAID sponsored students have ongoing employment that they will return to in their home countries, some students would like to gain some work experience in Australia (within the parameters of the International Student visa) to gain valuable skills and insight into Australian workplace and culture.
It’s not hard to see why the UOW careers service won the AAGE's Australian Graduate Recruitment Industry Award (AGRIA) Best Careers Service for Employers in 2007. The Careers Service provides a range of programs, including workshops, work skills development programs, work experience placements and part time, vacation and volunteer work opportunities to support students in their professional development and career aspirations.

"Currently I am working with the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. I will continue my career with my Ministry after the completion of my study and I want to contribute to my nation. I feel honoured to become a part of the AusAID Scholarship program. I have made some good friends through the program. Most notably, because of this scholarship, I got the opportunity to complete my PhD course in my preferred area at the UOW. |

The aspects of studying at University of Wollongong that I like best are the education system, study environment, social life and all the other facilities provided by the university. I particularly appreciate the services and convenient timetable of the university library." AusAID sponsored student from Bangladesh, Ms Khaleda Parven, PhD Law
