2024 Indigenous Nationals

The 28th Indigenous Nationals will be held from 23 - 27 June at UOW. The event will be contested in a mixed competition across four sports: touch football, basketball, netball, and volleyball. The annual event will bring together Indigenous student-athletes from universities across Australia to celebrate the rich sporting culture of Indigenous Australia and acknowledge the heritage and history of the participants.

Join us as a volunteer

We need volunteers to help during the event, here are some of the jobs that need to be done.

Event Crew tasks:

  • Assist with venue set up and/or pack down including courts, signage, shade,water, sporting equipment, accreditation stations and competition management 
  • Support Event Managers with daily operational tasks at venue such as venue liaison, catering, water refills and general competition management 
  • Assisting in tracking sport equipment each day 
  • Support competition managers to undertake sport specific tasks 
  • Assisting with scoring and timekeeping duties and online results entry where required 
  • Assist with medal presentations and ceremonies 
  • Assist with merchandise sales and sponsors activations 

NB: (Some tasks may require physical labour including lifting) 

 

What we are looking for in our volunteers:

  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to work as part of a team 
  • Enthusiastic and motivated approach 
  • Well-developed customer service and problem-solving skills 
  • Exercise judgement and work without supervision 
  • Be an unbiased non-competitor at the event 
  • Uphold UniSport policies and guidelines

Brittney sees her role not just as a graphic designer but as a storyteller and bridge-builder in visual communication, connecting history & culture in modern, contemporary environments.
