Airport Pickup Service

Wollongong is 80km from Sydney International Airport (SYD), where you will find some easy transportation options, including the free airport pick-up service.

Airport Pick-up

UOW provides a free airport pick-up service from Sydney International Airport for all new international students travelling to Wollongong.

You will be met in the Arrivals Hall after you clear Customs and transported to your Hall of Residence or pre-arranged temporary accommodation in Wollongong by a driver from Leisure Coast Limousines (Ph +61 2 4261 7393).

Check with accommodation services or the pick up service should you have any difficulties. See Airport Pickup Service for details.

Wollongong is just 85 minutes by train from Sydney Airport.

Take the train from the International or Domestic terminal to Wolli Creek, and change to a Wollongong train, bound for Port Kembla, Dapto or Bomaderry (South Coast line).

North Wollongong Station is the closest station to the University.

Wollongong trains leave Wolli Creek approximately every hour, however it can sometimes be quicker to catch a train from Wolli Creek to Hurstville to connect.

The Transport NSW Trip Planner can help you with scheduled train times. Ask for the journey from the “International airport” to “North Wollongong station”.

Normal taxis do not generally operate from Sydney airport to Wollongong, but several companies provide airport pick up services using small buses. The university currently uses Leisure Coast Limousines.
