Benefits of PASS for the leader

There are many benefits in being a PASS leader. These include

  • Enhanced knowledge of subject material
  • Improved communication skills
  • Opportunity to network with faculty
  • A chance to develop public speaking skills
  • Development of leadership and teamwork skills

Previous PASS leaders have also commented that having the position as a PASS leader on their C.V. was a contributing factor to them receiving employment. This is because a successful PASS leader must exhibit many of the key attributes which employers are looking for.

After PASS

As the PASS program encourages the development of many graduate attributes, past leaders are very much sought after by employers as their leadership and interpersonal skills are so developed. Former leaders have gone on to work for organisations such as:

  • Honeywell
  • KPMG
  • Deloitte
  • Procter & Gamble
  • Commonwealth Bank
  • Bluescope
  • Citigroup
  • National Australia Bank
  • NSW Dept. of Education
  • Ernst & Young
  • JPMorgan
  • Macquarie Bank
  • Australian Government Treasury
  • PHD study at UOW, USYD and ANU
  • Graduate Medicine at UOW, USYD and ANU

Could you be the next PASS leader?

We look to recruit students who will be in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of their course to fill the leader positions.
Applicants must have a high credit average to date across their course and have achieved a distinction or better in the subject which they would like to be a PASS leader on.
They should also possess above average communication and interpersonal skills, maturity and good organisational skills.
