International Centre for Composites in Infrastructure (ICCI)

Overview

The ICCI is engaged in international collaborative research in advanced technologies for the use of composite materials in infrastructure. It engages in the transfer and dissemination of these technologies through specialist consultancy, continuing professional training and development of design codes/guidelines.

Based at UOW with eight partner institutions located in three countries, ICCI expertise covers various aspects of infrastructural applications of composite materials, ranging from strengthening of existing structures to new construction, from short-term structural behaviour to durability and fire resistance, from experimental studies to theoretical and numerical studies, from conceptual development to design.

The research outcomes of ICCI researchers have impacted significantly on the relevant design standards and guidelines in the US, the UK, Europe, Australia and China.
