Volunteering
The University of Wollongong offers a range of volunteer opportunities for alumni and current students. Volunteering provides the opportunity to give back to your University, while having fun and developing new skills and friendships.
Volunteers are a valuable resource and do a lot to enhance the programs and activities of the UOW Alumni Network.
These are some of the volunteer opportunities available:
Alumni Chapters and Networks
You can easily stay in touch with fellow graduates and the UOW community by getting involved with an Alumni Network or interest group.
Networks and Chapters offer opportunities for social and professional networking with alumni from your faculty/discipline area, or who live in the same region, or work in the same industry. More information
Graduation
Graduation ceremonies take place at the Wollongong campus in July and December each year. Graduation Volunteers are always needed at each ceremony to greet guests, hand out graduation booklets and direct students & guests to appropriate seating areas. Expressions of interest should be emailed to Glen Meznaric.
Reunions
The Alumni Relations Office encourages you to organise a reunion as a way of keeping in touch and rekindling the bonds forged in your time at UOW. For more information, including a comprehensive Reunion Planning Guide, click here.
Mock interview program
Career Ahead is a mock interview program held each year to provide an opportunity to engage both current students and alumni with the UOW Alumni network.
The program was designed to provide final year UOW students with the opportunity to improve their interview skills. The mock interview program gives students the opportunity to be interviewed by successful UOW alumni and receive constructive face to face feedback.
Alumni are integral to the success of the program as they act as interviewers. Imagine how rewarding it will be to genuinely help students practice their interview skills and prepare for their future career! Your contribution will ensure students enter the rigorous interviews ahead of them with the confidence to succeed.
Guest Speaking
The Centre for Student Engagement is the extra-curricular service centre for the University of Wollongong. CSE are seeking guest speakers for the following:

ASLA – speakers who are leaders in their chosen fields to explore what leadership is and how leadership principles can be applied in everyday life, at the Students 4 Students Leafership Conference.
Twelve week leadership program – speakers to speak on topics including ‘Global Leadership’, ‘Social Function Etiquette’ and ‘My personal leadership journey’.
