Marie Lewis Award

The Marie Lewis Award is in honour of the late Marie Lewis. Marie was a graduate of the University and worked in Student Administration between 1978 and 1997.

The Award recognises the achievement of a  Professional Services Staff member who is completing a degree. Selection is based on academic performance and service to the University. The prize has a value of $1,000. 

Eligible staff are invited to self-nominate for this award. Nominations close Friday 12 May 2017.

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • be a non-academic member of staff
  • be employed for at least 3 days per week
  • be a member of the University or its subsidiaries, UOW E
  • have been enrolled for at least one academic year
  • be currently enrolled
  • not have previously received the award

The successful candidate will be selected by the DVC (A) and the Director of Student Services  after considering academic performance as measured by ‘Average Mark’ and ‘Contribution to the University and its students. Further evaluation will be from supporting statements from the candidate's supervisor or others as appropriate.
