UOW Cares hosted 'Pay it Forward Thursday' on 4 December
Staff and students of UOW came together to Pay it Forward by sharing a sweet treat to raise funds for future recipients of the UOW Learning and Development Scholarship. Pop up stalls outside the Library gave the UOW community opportunities to Pay it Forward to some great local, national and international causes through UOW Cares.
The UOW Library continue to accept donations of new books and toys for children aged 0 to 16 on behalf of The Smith Family - Learning for Life Program. Donations will be accepted until 12 noon Thursday 18 December.
your donation matters
In 2013, the generosity of UOW staff members:
- Funded the Headspace Wollongong “Managing Mental Health Group” to educate young people about mental illness.
- It also allowed the Australian Indigenous Mentoring experience (AIME) to employee more casual staff in Wollongong and South Coast to reach more schools in Wollongong, Bega and the Shoalhaven, and
- Staff contributions restored sight to 225 people in the developing world through the Fred Hollows Foundation.
That’s just some of the amazing results of Staff generosity. Your donations made a real difference in the lives of our community!
What can we do together in 2014?
