The University of Wollongong is opening its doors for a massive community celebration – and you’re invited! Join us on the UOW lawns near the UniBar for an unforgettable day filled with live music, delicious food, vibrant market stalls, and fun activities for all ages.  

This milestone marks 50 years of UOW’s journey, and we’d love for students, staff, alumni, and our wider community to celebrate together. Best of all, it’s free to attend.

What's on

11 am - 3 pm, Saturday 15 November 2025
  • IMB Bank Play Zone: Activities include a Reptile Zoo, Laser Tag, inflatable slides, and a VR Gaming truck. Get hands-on with Science Space and Early Start Discovery Space activities. Plus, enjoy IMB Bank craft stations, free popcorn, Professor Bubbles, face painting, a Photobooth, and a coffee with a free cupcake.
  • Sports Zone: Get moving with UniActive and UOW Sports Clubs! Enjoy games like Putt Putt Golf and the St George Illawarra Dragons Ball Toss, or take a thrilling ride down the Giant Slide. Don't forget your free coffee, courtesy of UniSuper!
  • Beats and Eats: Soak up live music while enjoying great food and drinks from a pop-up bar, food trucks and market stalls
  • Campus tours: Join a tour to discover what makes UOW special!

Live music

  • 11.30am - 11.50am: Official opening
  • 12.30pm - 1.10pm: UOW i-House Student Band
  • 1.15pm - 2pm: Harry O'Brien for Pacific Avenue

About Harry O'Brien

Harry O’Brien is the charismatic frontman of South Coast rock band Pacific Avenue. Known for their sun-soaked sound and energetic live shows, the band has grown from local favourites to national festival regulars. With his soulful voice and down-to-earth charm, Harry brings the spirit of coastal Australia to the stage - the perfect soundtrack for UOW’s 50th Birthday celebrations.

Tours depart at 11.30 am and 1.30 pm from Building 11.
