BIOGRAPHY

Dr Fenghui Ren received his PhD (2010) and MCompSc-Res (2006) degrees from the University of Wollongong (UOW), and received his BCompSc (2003) from the Xidian University in China. Between 2010 and 2012, he worked on an ARC Linkage project (LP0991428) as the research fellow at UOW, and was awarded the UOW Vice Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellow Award in 2013. In later 2013, his project proposal for DECRA was granted by ARC (DE14010007), and he current works in the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering at UOW as an ARC DECRA Fellow. Dr Ren’s major research areas include agent and multi-agent systems, decision support systems, agent-based modelling and simulation, data mining and pattern discovery, and agent-based learning, negotiation and coordination.

Dr Ren is an active early career researcher. Up to date, he has published 40 research papers, serviced up to 25 international conferences/workshops/journals as PC member or paper reviewer, and jointly organised the ACCDS’09, MASmart’11 and SSMCS’13 workshops. He currently supervises 1 PhD and 1 honours student, and his first PhD student was completed in Dec. 2013.

He current has two PhD scholarships for prospective students to work in the areas of autonomous software agents and multi-agents system. The scholarship description can be downloaded from (HERE).
