Examining a Viral Infection Model With Impulse Differential Equations

Spring 2017

Abstract

In this project we examined an impulse differential equation model for the treatment of viral infection using antibody injections. The purpose of the project was to reproduce some work done by Schwartz and Smith? [1], and then perform some further research into areas not explored in this paper. We developed our own MATLAB code to analyse the system, from which we were able to effectively find the long term solutions of our system. Through this analysis we were able to draw the conclusion that it is more mathematically effective for the model which we use to have a single injection, rather than the two prescribed by Schwartz and Smith?
