Network interface information you can display

You might want to display statistics about your network interface status and performance. Data ONTAP provides several commands that you can use to display this information

The following table lists these commands and the information they display.

Ethernet TOE cards
A TCP offload engine (TOE) card is a networking device that implements TCP/IP protocols on a hardware card. The TOE interface also gives Data ONTAP an interface to either the 1- or the 10-GbE infrastructure. The 10-GbE PCIe TOE card fully supports NFS, CIFS, and iSCSI TCP applications in Data ONTAP.
About displaying TCP offload engine (TOE) information
If your storage system includes TOE devices, several additional fields are displayed when you enter certain management commands.
What the ifstat command displays
You might want to display statistics maintained by the networking code, the network adapter, or the network driver. The ifstat command displays these statistics gathered from the time of the last reboot or from the last time you cleared them.
Displaying TCP/IP driver statistics with the netstat command
You can use the netstat command with the -T option to display the statistics for all the TOE interfaces in a specified storage system. You can also use netstat with the -a option to display active TCP connections, including the TOE field.
Displaying interface information with FilerView
The Network Report in FilerView presents selected network interface statistics and routing information. It provides the information you would get by running netstat -l, routed status, and netstat -rn.
