Woolyunga Student Success Stream
Woolyungah's Student Success Stream offers support and guidance through the challenges of tertiary study and can recommend other relevant services available to you at UOW. We have both professional and academic supportand take a holistic approach to supporting our students on their academic journey.
UOW Services for students
Woolyungah Indigenous Centre's purpose is to be available to students to help them succeed through the student lifecycle including Recruitment right the way through to graduation and as an Alumni.
There are several accommodation options in the Illawarra area. Some students chose to live on-campus in residential college accommodation, while shared households off campus are also available.
WIC offers Indigenous scholarships and grants and can provides financial assistance for:
- course fees, accommodation and other costs associated with attending university
- students in financial hardship
- attending compulsory placement and practical requirements of your course
- attending residential schools
- relocating to attend university
- buying textbooks
- computers, software and internet access
- education capacity assessments and pastoral care
UOW offers various work related learning opportunities for our students. These opportunities aim to give our Indigenous students the cutting edge for the future with exposure and experience in working environments and genuine purposeful learning experiences in their chosen study area. Many students seek part time or casual employment during their studies. Use the UOW Careers Central Job Board to find work during your studies and also to familiarise yourself with graduate positions that you can strive for at the conclusion of your studies.
