It's about a 20 min walk from the station to Wollongong Campus or a quick ride on the free NG shuttle bus, which is scheduled to meet with most trains. The primary bus used is wheelchair accessible. This service runs during session and exam periods.  A reduced service also operates outside UOW session periods.  Refer to the Shuttle webpage for details.

Paying a fare - using opal cards

The UOW Shuttle Buses and the NSW Government Gong Shuttle are free of charge. If you are catching a regular bus service, you need to pay a fare using an opal card.

Opal Cards are smart card tickets that you load money onto and use for public transport across NSW. They are the new way to buy a ticket for buses, trains, light rail and ferries. Concession Opal cards are available for eligible full-time domestic students. If you are an international student, you will need to get an Adult Opal card.  Information on how to apply for these cards, and how to determine your eligibility is available from Student Central.

Adult, Child/Youth and Senior/Pensioner Opal cards are also available now. If you wish to obtain an Adult or Child Opal card you can do so online or from the UniShop.
