Travelling to Wollongong Campus from Picton and the Southern Highlands
There are some public transport options from Picton and Southern Highlands area but these are not necessarily ideal. Use Trip Planner to plan your trip for all NSW public transport modes. Opal fares apply and an Opal Student Concession is available to eligible students. For information on Opal cards and how to apply for a Opal Student Concession visit - uow.edu.au/student/central/travelpasses for details.
If you are travelling from Picton to Wollongong Campus the best public transport option is to catch a train to Campbelltown and then use the bus service (route 887) from Campbelltown, Macarthur Square and Appin that goes direct to UOW. See the Route 887 timetable.pdf for details.
From the Southern Highlands area the only option available is to catch the train to Bowral Train station and connect with the coach to Wollongong Train station then catch the train to North Wollongong Station. There are shuttle buses that connect the North Wollongong Train Station to the campus. You can catch the free UOW North Gong Shuttle bus (refer to the UOW North Gong Shuttle bus timetable.pdf for operating times) or the NSW State Government Gong Shuttle (on weekends). North Wollongong Station is within walking distance of the campus (approx 20 minutes).
Driving is also an option however it is not recommended due to limited parking and traffic congestion at peak times around the University. If you must drive then carpooling with three or more people is the best option. Refer to the UOW Parking page for details on parking options.
