On Wednesday 9th October, the Faculty of Law Humanities and Arts hosted a celebration lunch for currently enrolled international students. This event is part of the international team's commitment to creating a strong international community and facilitating opportunities for personal and professional growth. To keep in theme with the events hosted in 2019, attendees were asked to write a letter to their future selves, which will be returned to them in 12 months' time. This experience aimed to stimulate personal reflection and a sense of accomplishment for 2019, plus inspire students to think about their goals for 2020.
There was overwhelmingly positive feedback from students, with one student saying that they were excited to connect with fellow international students and discuss their experiences so far. Another student captured the event by saying 'sharing is learning.'
We too believe that sharing our experiences is the best way to learn about cultures and draw on shared experiences, forging friendships and community.
