Same high quality courses, now more affordable and flexible
Postgraduate study at UOW is now more affordable, with subsidised places in a greater range of courses.
We’ve increased the number of Commonwealth supported places in our graduate certificate degrees for 2021, which mean that you could have up to 75% of your tuition fees covered by the Commonwealth government. With a greater range of specialisations now offering fee subsidies and options for no up-front tuition payment, and the majority of courses offered 100% online, there are many study options to help advance your knowledge and career in 2021.
The below FAQs provide detailed information on this opportunity. Please contact us directly if you have further questions.

A UOW graduate certificate is a recognised qualification that includes four postgraduate subjects aimed at providing you with specialised knowledge and skills in a specific study area.
Graduate certificates can be undertaken as a stand-alone program and most can be used as a stepping stone to further postgraduate study. The four subjects offered are aligned with the course structure of at least one UOW master’s degree, which mean you can progress into a master’s if you’d like to continue studying.
The subsidised graduate certificates are listed on this page and include information on entry requirements and aligned master’s program.
UOW graduate certificates are an ideal way to get the extra knowledge you need to advance your current career or gain a competitive edge in the job market.
The majority of graduate certificates offered by UOW in 2021 are offered online, giving you the flexibility to choose when and where you study, and the ability to manage your study time around your personal and work commitments.
Graduate certificates are also a great opportunity to dip-your-toe into postgraduate study to see how it fits into your life. If you do decide to continue on to a master’s program you will receive credit for the four subjects you have successfully completed, and when you include the four fee-subsidised subjects into your master’s it will greatly reduce the usual tuition fee for this qualification.
Discounted graduate certificates are priced between $1972 to $3973 for courses starting in March and July 2021, depending on the subjects and the availability of Commonwealth supported places.
The next available intake for a Business graduate certificate will be Trimester 2, May 2021. These courses are priced between $3972 to $7248, depending on the subjects and the availability of Commonwealth supported places. There is also a Business intake in August 2021. Please note that not all Business majors are available to commence in each intake. We recommend that you book a consultation to discuss the best intake for your course of interest.
When you receive a Commonwealth supported place at UOW, your student contribution costs are calculated at a subject level. Student contribution course costs are based on the course structures outlined in the 2021 Course Handbook. Student contribution costs range from $493- $1812 per subject and are calculated by subject area.
When you study in a Commonwealth supported place you may also qualify to receive HECS-HELP, meaning you will have zero up-front tuition fees to outlay. The government's Study Assist site explains how this works.
To be eligible to enrol in a discounted graduate certificate, you must meet the following criteria:
