Waitlist for rooms

We have always known that living on-campus is a popular choice for our students, however, for 2022 applications have been received in record numbers. If you have not applied as yet, but are still keen to live in a student residence, you can apply to be placed on a waitlist for a room. We apologise for this inconvenience, but our rooms are in high demand with students keen to return to campus.

Moving to Wollongong

Wollongong attracts people from all over Australia and the world to enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle. Here you can live stress-free and focus on your studies. At every turn there will be new opportunities: to follow your passions, make discoveries and figure out what you stand for.

Private rental market

Private rental market

If you are considering renting privately while studying, we recommend you start looking and applying soon. The private residential vacancy rates around the Wollongong campus and Wollongong, in general, are very low at the moment, making access to private rentals very competitive. UOW’s Housing Services provides advice on renting privately and access to private listings.   UOW Housing Services Private rental vacancy rates

Get $5,000 off your first year of rent

If you receive a UOW Early Admission offer for 2022 and completed your final studies (HSC, IB or equivalent) at a high school in rural or regional Australia, you will automatically be considered for a $5,000 rent discount for your first year in a UOW residence. There is no separate application to complete. As long as you meet these criteria and apply for your UOW accommodation by 14 November 2020, you are eligible to be considered for one of 24 scholarships. It's as easy as that.

Studying in 2022

We're excited that 2022 will give more students the chance to safely study on UOW's vibrant campuses.

Many students have missed the social experience of learning in person throughout 2020 and 2021. We have too.

Get the info you need on 2022 student life, including how to stay COVID-safe on campus and access our services and facilities.

Make sure you check out the plans for Campus Fest in February. By that time you'll be settled into your accommodation, met some new peeps, and be ready to start your life as a UOW student with live music, markets and free food (who doesn't love free food?!).
