Online Induction

UOW Accommodation has an online module that all residents are asked to complete prior to arrival and checking in. It will take you through useful information like the support services available to you in accommodation services and at UOW, key contact details and links to websites we’re sure you’ll need. The online induction is a prerequisite of your arrival, so please ensure you keep an eye out for an email with further instruction on how to access this induction.

Bangalay

Arrival information:

If arriving on the first Sunday of contract, arrival time is 10am-3.00pm.  If you are arriving outside of these hours on this Sunday, please contact office staff on the email below prior to your arrival.

What to bring:

  • Clothes hangers
  • Laptop, tablet or desktop computer, network cable
  • Headphones
  • Alarm clock
  • Backpack
  • Health care card/Medicare card/private health insurance card or details
  • Laundry basket, washing detergent and clothes pegs
  • Personal identification
  • Toiletries, any regular prescription medications that you use, prescriptions for medication
  • Bed linen (sheets, doona/quilt/duvet/comforter) & covers, pillow and pillow cases (please note that beds are either standard long singles or king singles)
  • Bath and beach towel
  • All of your University documents and any other important paperwork you may need
  • Kitchen supplies
  • TV (please check with office staff)

Campus East

Arrival information:

If arriving on the first Sunday of contract, arrival time is 10am-3.00pm.  If you are arriving outside of these hours on this Sunday, please contact office staff on the email below prior to your arrival.

What to bring:

  • Linen (towels, sheets, doona, pillow, pillow slips)
  • Important documentation (your birth certificate, medicare/health cover card, prescriptions and any medication you take)
  • Computer (internet cables may be purchased from the front office)
  • Power board (must be Australian certified and have surge protection)
  • Australian approved adaptors (for those coming from overseas it is best to purchase these when you arrive in Australia)
  • Bicycle, helmet, and lock
  • Blu Tac (not sticky tape or thumb tacks)
  • Cutlery, crockery, and storage containers
  • Cooking utensils, pots, and pans
  • Surfboard, beach towel, and sunscreen
  • Small bar fridge (unless you are in A to D blocks)
  • Desk lamp
  • Laundry basket, clothes hangers, pegs

Kooloobong Village

Arrival information:

If arriving on the first Sunday of contract, arrival time is 10am-3.00pm.  If you are arriving outside of these hours on this Sunday, please contact office staff on the email below prior to your arrival.

What to bring:

  • Pillow, bed linen (refer to bed type below) and towels. If you have already purchased these online via the shopping cart in the Accommodation Portal, it will be available for you upon arrival);
  • Computer, laptop, cables, etc.
  • Small electrical appliances including toaster, kettle, hair dryer etc;
  • Cutlery, crockery (plates, cups, bowls etc.) and cooking utensils;
  • Washing basket, coat hangers;
  • Optional: Study lamp, torch, radio, alarm clock, computer, TV, radio/stereo, and headphones.

**Please note- if you are staying in a shared unit at Kooloobong Village, you may wish to wait until after your arrival to discuss the purchase of some shared items with your roommates**

These are reserved for DDA residents only

** Please note that all units are mixed gender units however residents can request otherwise**

  • Events and activities held by our Community leaders throughout the year;
  • Common kitchens on each ground floor level with shared ovens, fridge, microwave and cook tops;
  • Multiple games rooms with TV's, billiards, table tennis, & foosball tables;
  • Laundry facilities (washers, dryers and ironing boards);
  • Outdoor barbeque facilities;
  • Meeting/study room facilities;
  • Sound proof Music Room;
  • Community garden;
  • Snack, drink machines; and
  • Undercover car parking (available online for purchase, check on the Accommodation Portal for more information), including off-site options. There are limited spaces so be sure to get in quick!

  • Linen ? sheets, pillow, pillow case(s), doona/duvet + cover. If you would like to purchase your linen prior to your arrival you can do this online through the Accommodation Portal in the Shopping Cart.
