UOWx Ambassador

What will I do?

UOWx connects students with valuable co-curricular activities that are offered at the University of Wollongong. The personal and professional development gained through these activities is formally recognised through the UOWx Record and Award
You will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating UOWx planning sessions at The Hub & peer mentoring activities
  • Running information stalls on campus (including set up and pack down)
  • Assisting with the delivery and promotion of the UOWx Events
  • Creating content for digital channels (MyUOW App, Facebook, Instagram, E-Newsletter)
  • Attending UOWx team meetings

Essential criteria

  • Current or previous involvement with a UOWx recognised role
  • Possess a sophisticated understanding of the co-curricular activities on offer at UOW
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including sound cultural sensitivity
  • Demonstrated ability to approach and engage a diverse range of people
  • Ability to show initiative, possess a high level of enthusiasm, and a 'can do' attitude
  • Strong organisational skills (time management, record keeping)

Hours of work

Once your university timetables have been finalised, shifts for the session will be allocated monthly. You will be expected to work approximately 70 hours over the year.


The rate of pay for UOWx Ambassadors is Professional Services Staff Casual Rate 1.
