Following the NSW Premier’s press conference today (17 July 2021), additional public health restrictions have been put in place to limit the spread of the highly infectious COVID-19 Delta strain.
Based on the updated health advice, the following additional restrictions will come into effect for UOW’s Wollongong and South Western Sydney Campuses from 11.59pm on Saturday 17 July:
- All students and visitors to campuses must carry a mask at all times, to be worn when indoors, in queues or retail outdoors, and if within 1.5 meters of another person.
- Carpooling to and from campus must be stopped unless among household members.
- Staff must always wear a face mask when working both indoors (if not alone) and outdoors.
Wollongong Campus Library remains open during standard opening hours, with capacity limits also in place.
The Bega, Batemans Bay, Moss Vale, and Shoalhaven campuses remain open and accessible for staff and students, with Covid-safe plans applied. Our Sydney CBD and Southern Sydney campuses continue to be closed.
This is a challenging time, so please seek assistance through UOW’s Support Services, as you need it.
