Official academic documents

Following the successful completion of your studies, you are eligible to receive a testamur (certificate) when you graduate. The testamur is a legal document, issued by the authority of the Secretary to Council and the Chancellor, and imprinted with the University Seal. It will state the name of your qualification and the area(s) of major study. 

One copy of your academic transcript (an official record of all subjects attempted and corresponding results) and our Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) is also provided with your testamur.

Receiving your academic documents

Hardcopy official academic documents will be posted to you by DHL couriers (or another third party). And from December 2018, students graduating onshore will also receive their official academic documents in digital format, via My eQuals.

For students who completed their studies in July: 

  • your official hardcopy documents will be sent to you by the end of August 2018.

For students completing their studies in November: 

  • your official hardcopy documents will be sent to you by the end of January 2019
  • you will also receive your official documents digitally via My eQuals - these will be issued to you by 21 December 2018

Documents will be sent regardless of whether you choose to attend a graduation ceremony or not (or if your ceremony is scheduled for the next year) - but you still must apply to graduate.

Official UOW academic documents have special features that protect against fraud and in turn, protect the integrity of your hard work. 

If your testamur is lost or damaged

All official hardcopy documents will be sent via DHL, third party couriers or Australia Post (for Australian PO Boxes). You will be contacted to receive your tracking number. Please contact Student Central on 1300 275869 or if your documents have not arrived by the end of January or August, depending on when you are graduating.

International addresses

All addresses will be written in English. DHL has translators in countries all over the world to ensure your package will arrive at the address you provided to us when you applied to graduate. 

Additional copies

Additional hardcopies of transcripts and AHEGS can be purchased from Student Central - refer to the Student Charges page for information on applicable charges. You can apply for additional copies via the Student Forms & Documents page. 

Applications for replacement testamurs can be made by completing a replacement testamur form and paying the replacement testamur fee.

Please note that only one copy of your digital official academic documents per course can be issued to you - so additional digital copies cannot be provided (unless your details are incorrect or you have legally changed your name).
