Recommencement of in-person graduation ceremonies in 2022
Now, with vaccination rates in NSW reaching critical milestones and our state's leaders confident in the safe easing of restrictions, UOW can recommence the traditional in-person graduation celebrations that graduating students want and deserve.
We are excited to advise that we plan to host in-person graduation ceremonies in 2022 at the WIN Entertainment Centre (WEC). The ceremonies will be open to all students who missed out on a ceremony in 2020 and 2021.
Hosting graduation ceremonies at the WEC will allow UOW to safely host more graduates and their guests while critically aligning to NSW public health orders. It also provides a unique opportunity to celebrate with students from all our campuses, delivering an event to remember.
We are currently planning for these ceremonies to take place in April and October 2022 and will include all of the much loved traditions of graduation comprising commencement addresses by faculty, distinguished guest speakers, personal recognition of graduates and more.
While we are hopeful in planning these events, future changes to public health advice may mean disruptions to these ceremonies. UOW will continue to monitor health advice and keep you updated on any changes. The scheduling of in-person graduation ceremonies does not mean a delay in receiving your qualifications. UOW has a long-standing practice of issuing testamurs soon after a students’ course completion.
We truly look forward to celebrating with you, in-person and honouring the ceremony of graduation. Delivering a memorable graduation celebration while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our graduates and their families remains our priority.
