Indigenous health practitioners have a role not only in improving health disparities in our society but being advocates for health and education in Indigenous communities. Indigenous health studies at UOW is designed for individuals who wish to gain experience or skills in this field.
It is designed to give students the knowledge and skills in population health, primary health care, health management and health research. Also, the program has a particular focus on community participation and empowerment, guided by the principles of social justice and social inclusion.
Graduates will be able to practice in settings such as the community, hospitals, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector, health research and policy development.
