General Information for ABC9
Venue
ABC9 will be hosted at two different venues:

Registration and Information Desk
Registration and the Information Desk will be open on:
- Sunday 30 November from 4.00 pm - 7.30 pm, Ground Floor of the AIIM Building, iC.
- Monday 1 December and Tuesday 2 December from 8.00 am - 4.30 pm, Foyer, Level 1, Building 67, University of Wollongong.
Conference delegates are asked to register once and will receive a conference bag with the following:
- USB lanyard (with electronic copy of the Book of Abstracts) with name tag Book of Abstracts, including the conference program
- Sponsors information
- Writing material
- Information on Wollongong
Your name tag is your entry ticket to all scientific sessions and the social events associated with ABC9. Please wear it to all events, including the Conference Dinner.
Speaker Preparation Room
A speaker preparation room (Room 67.102) is located next to the main lecture theatre in Building 67. You will need to check your presentation with the ABC9 Speaker Room Technical Officer, 2 hours before your session. Speakers are requested to meet their Session Chairs in the lecture theatre 15 minutes before the session. Software used for the presentations will be Microsoft PowerPoint.
Session Chairs
Session Chairs are requested to be available 15 minutes before for the beginning of the session in the lecture theatre (Room 67:104) to check facilities with the ABC9 AV Technician, and to meet the speakers. As the Session Chair, you will be responsible for timing the talks and ensuring all speakers keep to a strict schedule so your session stays on time. If you have any problems please speak to the ABC9 AV Technician, who will provide you with technical assistance to keep sessions on time. Chairs are also asked to remind the audience to turn mobile phones off or to silent mode prior to the session beginning.
Oral Presentations
Each Free Paper oral presentation is limited to 8 minutes + 2 minutes for questions and discussion. Work in Progress oral presentations are limited to 5 minutes with a joint question and discussion time built into the session. Speakers are to meet in the lecture theatre 15 minutes prior to their session, to check their slides and meet the Session Chairs. Presentations must have been uploaded prior to this in the Speaker Preparation Room. No speaker (apart from Keynote speakers) will be permitted to use his or her own computer for the presentations.
Poster Presentations
The Poster Session will be conducted at City Beach Function Centre (the same venue as the Conference Dinner, on Monday evening from 6.00 pm – 7.30 pm. Each poster presentation will be allocated a space suitable for posters up to A0 size (841 x 1189 mm; portrait orientation). Posters must be mounted using Velcro (not pins), which will be available at City Beach Function Centre. Poster set-up must be completed by 5.45 pm on Monday and posters must be removed at the end of the Conference Dinner (11.30 pm). Any posters left will be disposed of. Each poster will be assigned a number, which will be placed at the upper left corner of the board. Presenters are asked to stay close to their posters for questions and discussion. Drinks and canapés will be served during the poster session to foster vibrant discussions!
Free Wireless Internet Service
Free wireless Internet will be available for ABC9 delegates at the University of Wollongong. To access the service, please use the login and password details provided at the Registration & Information Desk.
Lunch & Refreshments
Lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea will be served in the foyer of Level 1, Building 67. Please wear your name tag to confirm that you are an ABC9 delegate when receiving your lunch. Lunch can be enjoyed either outside on the terrace of Building 67 or using tables provided in the Logemas VIP Room (67:101).
Transport Details
An ABC9 Transport Officer is located at the registration desk and will be available to help you with your travel around Wollongong. The free Gong Shuttle public bus service now operates 7 days a week around Wollongong city. This includes a high frequency loop service from Wollongong Station to the University of Wollongong, travelling in both directions. Buses can be caught from any specially marked green Gong Shuttle bus stop. The service operates between 7.00 am and 10.00 pm from Monday to Friday; every 10 minutes during peak (7.00 am-9.00 am & 3.00 pm-6.00 pm) and every 20 minutes off-peak. The weekend service operates every 20 minutes between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm. We encourage you to use the Gong Shuttle throughout your stay in Wollongong, as it is a good way to get a feel for central city/inner-city areas, as well as get from your hotel to the conference, to cafes, pubs and the beach. Social Program
Full participation in the ABC9 social events is imperative to ensure a fruitful exchange of ideas and to foster collaborative networks to stimulate further cutting edge research.

- Run the ‘Gong, 6.00 am – 7.00 am. Meet at North Beach Surf Club for a social running experience around Wollongong.
- Conference Dinner, 7.30 pm – 11.30 pm at City Beach Function Centre, Marine Drive Wollongong (included in Registration)
