This award was presented to the best oral presentation, based on the decision of the Awards Committee. Any registered conference delegate, apart from the Keynote Speakers, who has personally presented their research as an oral presentation at ABC9, was eligible for this award. The award recipient received $1,000.

This award was presented to the best oral presentation by a New Investigator, based on the decision of the Awards Committee. To qualify for the New Investigator Award the candidate must be within three (3) years of completing their last degree and not have been employed as a full-time researcher/academic for the last three years. The New Investigator Award is sponsored by the ANZSB from money forwarded by the organisers of the ABC8 conference. The award recipient received $500.

The influence of trunk flexion angle manipulation on wrist speed in cricket fast bowlers
This award was presented to the best poster presentation by a Young Investigator, based on the decision of the Awards Committee. To qualify for the Young Investigator Award the candidate must be the first author of the abstract submitted to ABC9. Candidates must be younger than 35 years of age at the time of the abstract submission deadline for ABC9, must have made the major contribution to the research paper, and must personally present the poster at ABC9. The award recipient received $500.
