Services for teaching & learning

UOW Library provides information and personalised consultations to enhance your teaching and learning practice, and can help you find resources and make them available to your students.

Subject readings

To assign reading material and other resources to students in your subject, use the Subject Readings tool that integrates with Moodle. The Subject Readings guide for staff can help you set up your list.

Ordering new resources via Library SEARCH

Search for the resource in Library SEARCH. Ensure you select 'Show results outside UOW Library'. Click the item's title.

Under 'How to get it', select one of the following:

  • Purchase Request form: to ask the Library to purchase a new item for the collection.
  • The relevant 'Get it' option: to either borrow a physical copy or get a digital chapter via Document Delivery. If there is no 'Get it' option, click the link to Document Delivery and fill in the blank request form.

You can also request resources outside the UOW Library collection by adding them via Subject Readings.

Book a consultation with a librarian

Contact our librarians to discuss your teaching needs or book a consultation (9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday).

Our librarians can assist with:

  • reviewing your teaching and learning materials
  • making Subject Readings available for your students
  • developing your students' information and digital literacies
  • finding and using Open Educational Resources
  • finding resources for embedding Indigenous Knowledge into your curriculum.
