UniReady is a free bridging and transition program designed to give a crash course in academic skills, or as we like to call it 'how to 'Uni''. During your subject, you are enrolled as a UOW student and will attend your subject classes at your local UOW campus. As a UOW student you have full access to all of the facilities of the university and will have the opportunity to interact with many of the support services and processes that you may need once you start studying at university. Topics covered include;
· Facilitation of verbal and written tutorial participation skills including discussion, Q & A responses and academic presentation requirements
· Development of tutorial preparation skills including reading, note-taking and summarising
· Development of academic writing, critical reading, referencing, group work , time management, presentation skills & digital literacy skills
Career and Employment Planning:
Another really important part of the subject are the individual career plans and advice that all students have access to. We understand that careers and study are a complex mix and it's important to have several plans about how you might work towards the job you are looking for. Aside from working with a dedicated careers consultant students will have access to the full suite of resources of UOW Careers Central.
