Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Health Research is suitable for clinicians and other health professionals. It develops candidates’ research skills in the fields of health and medicine and prepares them for masters by research or doctoral studies, and also for undertaking research activities in their workplaces.

Course Learning Outcomes 

On the successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Health Research, students will be able to:

  1. Review and appraise clinical, health and medical topics by drawing on currently available evidence-based research.
  2. Think critically and evaluate available health research results to generate ideas for new research activities.
  3. Use quantitative and qualitative approaches to plan and evaluate health research.
  4. Work independently as part of a team, across a range of sectors to plan, manage and evaluate health research.
  5. Effectively communicate theoretical concepts, health knowledge, skills and ideas about groups, communities and populations to a wide range of audiences.
  6. Develop arguments about limitations, ethical and privacy issues.
  7. Understand conventions for research integrity and ethical research.

To qualify for the award of the degree, the Graduate Certificate in Health Research, a candidate must satisfactorily complete 24 credit points in accordance with the table below:
