Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting is an introductory course designed to provide a general understanding of accounting and related areas of business study. It provides foundation knowledge in the areas of accounting, finance and economics. It will also appeal to those students who want post graduate level learning in accounting as a stand-alone award.

Course Learning Outcomes

Course Learning Outcomes are statements of learning achievement that are expressed in terms of what the learner is expected to know, understand and be able to do upon completion of a course. Students graduating from this course will be able to demonstrate:

Course Structure

To qualify for award of the degree of Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting course code 2122, a student must complete a total of at least 24 credit points, as per the outline below.

Other Information

Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting, students may apply to enrol in the Master of Professional Accounting degree. Students progressing into the Masters program will be given credit for studies completed within the Graduate Certificate. Graduates can also progress to the Master of Business Administration, giving graduates credit towards two MBA elective subjects.
