Overview

This course whilst primarily targeted at clinicians teaching in the clinical settings, will also be structured so that it is relevant to all academics (including non-clinical) teaching in School of Medicine.

A distinctive feature of this program is the flexible teaching methods which will include face-to-face teaching, online discussion groups, workshop and demonstrations.

Course Learning Outcomes

Students graduating from the Graduate Certificate in Medical Education will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate and implement knowledge of adult, lifelong and small group learning principles.
  2. Demonstrate cognitive skills to critically analyse and design learning experiences and evaluate how best these experiences can be implemented in one’s own practice and professional context.
  3. Demonstrate cognitive and technical skills to critically analyse, design and implement assessment tasks.
  4. Demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills and make independent judgements about effective teaching and associated evaluation strategies in a range of specialised and professional contexts.
