Overview

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is designed for experienced professionals who wish to develop their strategic managerial skills in order to operate effectively in an increasingly competitive and evolving global business environment. The course is designed for those who are qualified in a specialised field and who wish to develop their business acumen and business skills. MBA students develop a portfolio of key management competencies that range from strategic analysis and decision making skills through to an appreciation of global business challenges, complemented by people, economics, financial, and marketing analysis skills.

The MBA (Advanced) course offers students the opportunity to specialise in their area of interest by completing additional prescribed and/or elective subjects. The course has a strategic focus designed for students who require the knowledge, competencies and managerial skills necessary to operate in a challenging and changing global environment.

Course Learning Outcomes

Students graduating from the Master of Business Administration Advanced will be able to:

  1. Synthesise advanced theoretical and practical knowledge that incorporates recent developments in business disciplines and professional practice.
  2. Propose appropriate solutions to complex real-world business challenges.
  3. Participate collaboratively and responsibly in teams to achieve individual and collective outcomes.
  4. Communicate complex ideas and information effectively for the intended audience and purpose, orally and in writing.
  5. Evaluate relevant responsibility frameworks when making judicious business decisions.
  6. Critically reflect on personal ideas, practices and feedback from stakeholders.
  7. Plan and execute a substantial business research project, drawing on relevant research principles and methods.
  8. Demonstrate an appropriate depth of integrated knowledge of the specialisation area.
