Articulation with other UOW Courses

Students in the Bachelor of Science (Nutrition) who achieve a Distinction average in 96 credit points of their course (equivalent to two years of full time enrolment) may apply to transfer into the Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics. Entry is competitive. Applicants are ranked by a selection panel once a year on the basis of academic merit, and a recommendation is made by the Course Coordinator and approved by the Head of school.

Any course transfer offer is subject to availability of places - there will be limited places each year. Course transfer applications from other UOW courses may be considered in exceptional circumstances, but only where the course is a relevant science-based degree and the student has a minimum of Distinction grade average performance. These applications are competitively ranked. Ranking occurs once a year by a selection panel, and a recommendation is then made by the Course Coordinator to the Head of School for a course transfer offer.

Honours

High achieving students will be eligible to apply for entry into the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours). Entry into Honours requires the student to have attained at least a credit average in subjects undertaken during their undergraduate degree. For further information, please contact the Course Coordinator. The Honours grade will be calculated in accordance with the University of Wollongong Method 3.

For further information refer to General Course Rules Section 8.

Professional Recognition/ACCREDITATION

The Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics program has full accreditation with the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), making all graduates eligible for the credential of Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Accredited Nutritionist (AN). Graduates can also apply for membership to the Nutrition Society of Australia (see NSA website).
