Course Description
The Bachelor of Mathematics Advanced Honour program is a fourth year of study available to students who have achieved a Distinction average, or better, in the Bachelor of Mathematics Advanced. It is a challenging program which includes a research project.
Students who wish to enter the Honours program should obtain the approval of the Honours Coordinator at the end of their third year.

Course Requirements
A student must complete 48 cp to be eligible for the award of Honours. This is made up of a research project (37.5%) and coursework (62.5%).
Five coursework topics must be chosen, subject to approval from the Honours Coordinator. Normally these topics are comprised of four 400-level subjects from those on offer in the Mathematics Schedule and one 300-level subject.
A candidate will complete a substantial research project in an area of interest under the close supervision of one or more members of the mathematics/statistics staff.
Grade of Honours
The overall grade of Honours is determined by Method 1 (as described in the General Course Rules).

Enrolment
Full-time students enrol in one 24 credit point subject each session (eg enrol in MATH409 in both Autumn and Spring). Part-time students enrol in the 12 credit point equivalent each session for 4 sessions.
