Mr Yuxi Ruan
Mr Yuxi Ruan has been elected as the postgraduate student representative on the University Council.
Coming to Australia in 2007, he attended secondary school in the Wollongong area, going on to graduate from the University of Wollongong (UOW) with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Telecommunication in 2015.
From 2011 to 2016 he worked part-time as a customer solution specialist in a call centre and since 2016 has been a lab demonstrator in School of Electrical, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering at the UOW.
Mr Ruan was a Faculty Student Representative in 2015 and is a current member of UOW Academic Senate and Vice-President of Wollongong University Postgraduate Association. Currently he is pursuing a PhD in Faculty of Engineering Information and Science at the UOW and his research area is Dynamic 3D shape measurement.
Mr Ruan is determined to represent student interests and improve the equity of all students. UOW is a diverse University and he wants to ensure all voices are being heard. He deeply believes that it is students’ ideas and concerns that help in moving UOW forward and shaping UOW’s future.
