About the Webinar

Transitioning to Tertiary Education is a complex time for everyone involved, and those with additional challenges may need to access extra support. That’s why we’re running a Webinar, to better equip students with support needs, their parents, caregivers, teachers and support networks, with knowledge to help these students succeed in higher education.

Topics covered

  • Support services available for students with mental health, neurological and/or physical support needs and how to access them.
  • How a university environment differs from high school and how best to prepare to enter it.
  • How best to support these students as parents, caregivers, teachers, support workers or others.

Who should attend?

Any Year 10/11/12 students with support needs thinking about thinking about studying at university, their parents and caregivers, teachers, support workers and anyone from their support networks.

Future Talk is a series of information sessions designed specifically for a year 12 student's "support crew". If you're a parent or carer of a year 12 student and you’re perplexed by the HSC, we've got your back.

You can access free informative zoom sessions on a variety of subjects (including applying for university and how to best support your HSC students) as well as helpful weekly emails. Our sessions are run by a variety of experienced UOW staff, who are there to help you. You’ll have the chance to ask any questions you might have around the HSC, applying to university, pathways, careers, gap years or anything else you might be wondering about!
