Honorary Chapter initiates scholarship fund

The University of Wollongong is always eager to support the generous contributions that our honourees make to our institution. The UOW Honorary Alumni Chapter is a network of alumni who are focussed on ways in which they can utilise their skills and talents to support the University through advocacy.

One of the areas the Chapter has recognised is the need for additional financial support for our students who come from disadvantaged circumstances. Each year many of these students have to postpone or reconsider their higher educational aspirations due to affordability, which can continue their cycle of being disadvantaged.

Our Honorary Alumni Chapter has established the Honorary Chapter Scholarship Fund to help address the needs of students facing difficulty investing in their education. The Chapter understands that a solid beginning catapults a world of opportunities for a brighter future as well as encourages other students from similar backgrounds.

The Chapter aims to raise funds to award one new scholarship each year, with each scholarship lasting for three years. Each scholarship will be valued at $3000 per annum.

The Honorary Alumni Chapter encourages alumni and friends to join them in their efforts to help our students launch better lives for themselves by donating in whatever capacity you can.
