Australia Endeavour Leadership Program: MBA India Internship

$5,000 Grants for two UOW MBA Students

Globalise your professional and educational experience

This is a unique opportunity for MBA students to go beyond learning about global business in the classroom, and to experience working overseas firsthand through an internship. With one of the fastest growing economies in the world, India is rapidly ascending as a place for doing business amongst multinational corporations.

Doing this internship program will immerse you on how business is conducted in India, and equip you with the skills to deal with a globalised approach to doing business today and into the future. This program also presents a significant personal and career development opportunity.

  • Live and intern in the cosmopolitan city of Bengaluru (Bangalore), India
  • A unique opportunity to gain international work experience
  • Receive a $5,000 grant to cover your travel and living expenses

This pilot program offers two UOW MBA students a $5,000 Endeavour Leadership Program (ELP) Grant each to undertake an internship (with an organisation aligned to their interest) as an elective subject worth 6 credit points to count towards their degree.

Only domestic students (with Australian citizenship or Permanent Residency) studying the MBA or MBA (Advanced) programs at the UOW Wollongong or Sydney CBD campuses are eligible to receive the ELP grant.

The internship would be for at least 6 weeks in duration at a renowned industry partner of IFIM Business School.

The program commencement date can be negotiated with the successful grant recipients. However, students must arrive in India by the 1st of August 2020.

IFIM Business School is one of the top ranking institutions in India. It has a distinct advantage of being a pioneering premier management institute housed in the hub of the IT industry – in Electronics City, Bengaluru.

Their academics programs are rigorous, industry oriented, and knowledge-driven, and are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the American accreditation for business schools across the world.

Interested students must send an email to Associate Professor Venkat Yanamandram (venkat_yanamandram@uow.edu.au) attaching their CV, UOW student ID number, and addressing the following two questions:

  • How do you envisage to be a suitable ambassador for UOW (200 words); and
  • How would this overseas internship be of benefit to your career and personal growth (200 words)

The Endeavour Leadership Program (ELP) is the Australian Government’s two-way mobility program for short and long-term study, research and professional development with Australia’s priority partner countries.

The ELP provides opportunities for established and emerging leaders to undertake a global mobility experience within their study, research or professional field.
