CSCI 446/946 MultiMedia Studies

2009 Information

In 2009, the multimedia programming content of this subject will change from QuickTime for Java to QTKit and other Cocoa frameworks in Objective C2. These frameworks are used to program the iPhone, iPod and Mac OSX multimedia applications. Where QTKit does not have the required functionality, QuickTime in C will be taught for developing multimedia applications on Mac OSX and Windows.

The multimedia media creation component will continue to be taught in Final Cut Studio. Final Cut Studio is a suite of professional programs for video creation including: Final Cut Pro for video editing, Soundrack Pro for audio mixing of sound tracks, LiveType for dynamic title creation, Motion for moving graphic effects, and Colour for colour correction. All work will be done with High Definition (1080i) digital video.
