This letter of reference confirms that Markus Hagenbuchner has been working in my department as a tutor and part-time teacher and has also contributed to some research projects since 1993. His employment started in August 1993 until July 1995, and again from September 1997 to the present day. During his employment, Markus has shown himself to be intelligent, reliable and trustworthy. He has demonstrated remarkable skills in research and computer programming and also very good teaching abilities.

Markus has contributed to a variety of projects in my department. He implemented new training methods for artificial neural networks and suggested ways of optimization. He has also thoroughly completed his tasks with the implementation of graphical user interfaces and the writing of documentation and manuals. Markus is not only a perfect team player, but also a confident and technically very well qualified individual.

Furthermore, Markus did very well as a tutor and part-time teacher on the subjects "Introduction to Neural Information Processing" and "Associative Memories".

In all other respects Markus' work and attitude are entirely satisfactory, and I can recommend him with every confidence.
