Travel Concessions

International students studying in NSW are not entitled to receive student concessions on public transport (e.g., trains) because of their international status.

The NSW Administrative Decisions Tribunal has ruled that this practice is unlawful and discriminatory. Despite this, the NSW Government refused to grant international students any tarvel concessions. It even went so far as to change the law, making this form of discrimination legal.

WUPA is trying to change the law; we're running a postcard campaign and you can help. For more details, please visit our Travel Concessions page.

WUPA is a part of the Cross-Campus Concessions Coalition (CCCC), a lobby group composed of students from a variety of NSW universities. The CCCC is acting to ensure international students receive travel concessions.
