What is the Student Advocacy Service?

The Student Advocacy Service provides free, confidential and independent support for UOW students who seek guidance on administrative matters, anti-discrimination, appeals, grievances, misconduct allegations, supervision concerns and the University's policies and processes.

The Student Advocacy Officer is able to liaise with Academic, Administrative, and Student Support services (such as Student Central, Counsellors, Disability Services, Student Equity and Diversity Liaison Officers (SEDLOs), Learning Development and PASS) to assist students in times of academic confusion or personal hardship.

The Student Advocacy Service is able to network with the above services and keep track of the trends in impediments and successes that UOW Students may experience during their course of study. The Advocacy Service is then able to give constructive feedback to the University so that these issues may be addressed more effectively.

The Student Advocacy Officer is available for a drop-in consultation Tuesdays and Thursdays 10.00am–2:00pm, or by prior arrangement, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
