Woolyungah Indigenous Centre

About Woolyungah

Woolyungah Indigenous Centre (WIC) provide a number of programs, services and facilities to encourage and support tertiary education amongst Indigenous Australians.

Despite it’s primary purpose of supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students throughout their journey at UOW, WIC often acts as a gathering place for many. Throughout the year the students of Woolyungah Indigenous Centre run free student social BBQs. This weekly event is often a great opportunity for all members of Woolyungah, both new and old to meet and yarn with one another.

The University of Wollongong and Woolyungah Indigenous Centre both participate in and celebrate significant dates and events for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people such as National Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC Week, National Sorry Day and much more. These events provide an opportunity for university staff, students and the local Indigenous community to acknowledge and celebrate their culture .

The centre is located within building 30 at the Wollongong campus.
