Sport & Recreation
Our sporting facilities are world-class
The University Recreation and Aquatic Centre (URAC)
offers world-class facilities for a wide range of sport
and recreational activities.

Gym facilities
Facilities include sporting fields, with views to Mount
Keira, that have played host to Australian and visiting
international rugby teams as training venues before
Test matches, as well as providing playing and training
venues for the University's wide variety of sporting
clubs and teams.

Drinks at the cricket - Main Oval
There's a gymnasium and a heated 50-metre swimming
pool of such quality that it hosted Icelandic and Finnish
swim teams in the lead up to the 2000 Sydney Olympic
Games.

The Olympic Pool
All UOW students are automatically entitled to full
membership rights to URAC and can take advantage of
the large range of activities on offer from aerobic
classes, yoga and pilates to leisure and outdoor activities
to learn-to-swim and social sports competition. There's
24 social sports clubs ranging from rugby to rock climbing
to get involved in. It's a great way to get fit and
make friends at the same time!
