Help from the day you enrol

UOW offers excellent support to enhance students learning experience. Our Learning Development Centre offers a range of assistance and free service to all enrolled students, with workshops covering everything from essay writing and presentation skills, to study skills, time management and report writing. UOW's Careers Services offers graduates expert guidance and support in finding employment when they graduate.

Students may also access listings and notices with information on casual, part-time and permanent employment opportunities in the Wollongong area and beyond. Notices are updated regularly, and students are welcome to contact prospective employers directly from the Accommodation Services Office (located in the Student Service Centre on the ground floor of Building 17).

Your home away from home

The University of Wollongong offers a variety of accommodation options for enrolled students.

Students may choose from:

• A range of University managed residences (catered or self-catered), which are located close to the Campus, and a short walk, bus or train ride to the Wollongong CBD.
• Accommodation with a local family may be arranged through Leisure Coast Homestays.
• Private rental accommodation in shared houses or apartments in the Wollongong area for students who prefer a fully independent living style.

The Accommodation Services Office is located in the Student Service Centre on the ground floor of Building 17. It offers a broad range of information relating to accommodation options in the Wollongong area for students, including University managed accommodation in catered and non-catered residences; private share and rental property accommodation listings from property owners and real estate agents and information about local motels and backpackers accommodation for those seeking temporary accommodation.

Childcare services for students and staff

UniCentre Children's Services, 'Kids' Uni', offers accredited quality care for children of both students and staff of the University. Student subsidies and Child Care Benefits are available for all services. Kids' Uni offers Long Day Care, Out of School Hours and Vacation Care and has received the highest accreditation from the National Childcare Accreditation Council.
