International Students

SEDLOs can help International Students during their stay in Australia; SEDLOs perform the role done previously by the International Student Advisers. They assist students with a range of issues such as orientation to local area, homesickness, study difficulties, academic concerns, budgeting, legal/accidents, student visas, health, personal problems, family emergencies and children's education. They can give advice about returning home after you complete your studies. The service is free and confidential.

SEDLOs can also help international students meet other students and community members through the activities of ICIS and the International Friendship Program.

  DIAC can also be contacted on 131881. When calling if you are unsure of the information being provided it is always a good idea to wait on the line so you can speak with an operator rather than hearing a recorded message. If you are still having difficulty, come and speak with a SEDLO who can help you through this process.

• Illawarra Multicultural Services - The Illawarra Multicultural Service (IMS) has a multicultural playgroup twice a week for children and parents. It also has free Coffee and Conversation Mornings. Phone 02 4229 6855 for information on both of these.
