You must have a confirmation of enrolment to commence your course at University of Wollongong or be currently enrolled. Friendship Program applicants will be invited social functions throughout the semester where they can meet domestic students, other international students and local community members.
What are my responsibilities as a participant in the IFP?
- read the information given to me about the Program
- do your best to return phone calls, e-mail and messages from other people in the program
- keep agreed appointments
- attend one or more activities organised by the University for the IFP
- complete an evaluation at the end of the Session
Some things to consider
Friendship partners can be all ages and may include families, couples or single people. They also include people from all cultural backgrounds who live in the Australian community. Please note the IFP is not a dating service. Single people will usually be matched with a person of the same sex. All participants in the Program must agree to respect the other person’s culture, beliefs, religion, customs, etc.
What if I have a problem?
If you feel uncomfortable with your involvement in the IFP, please contact the International Student Coordinator (icis@uow.edu.au) immediately. If you are having any difficulties with any aspect of your studies or life in Australia you can contact a SEDLO for assistance.
